Our editorial mission

TourGarage exists to slow travel journalism down. In an era of algorithmically generated listicles and sponsored "top 10" roundups, we believe the best travel writing earns your trust by naming the tradeoffs honestly: the season that's too crowded, the neighbourhood that's gentrifying, the transport connection that's harder than the guidebook admits.

Every article on TourGarage starts with a human editorial brief. A writer researches the destination and drafts the piece. Before publication, an AI layer cross-checks key facts — opening hours, transport links, visa requirements, seasonal conditions — against current public sources. Discrepancies are flagged back to the editor for resolution. The AI does not write the narrative; it audits the data points.

Who we are

TourGarage is owned and operated by a PT-registered company based in Jakarta, Indonesia. Our editorial team is distributed across Southeast Asia and Europe, bringing firsthand knowledge of the regions we cover. We do not accept paid placements or sponsored reviews. We do earn commission on some booking and travel-service links — this is disclosed in our Disclaimer.

How the site works

Human writers

Every destination story is assigned to a writer with direct experience of the location. Writers are responsible for accuracy of personal accounts, narrative quality, and editorial judgement about what is worth recommending.

AI cross-checking

After the human draft is complete, our AI layer verifies structured facts: prices, distances, transport schedules, entry requirements, and seasonal data. Where sources conflict, the writer is asked to investigate. The AI does not have authority to change copy — it surfaces flags for human resolution.

Editorial review

All content passes through an editor before publication. Corrections and updates from readers are reviewed within two business days and applied where warranted.

Travel information caveat

Travel conditions change. Visa rules, operating hours, prices, and transport schedules can shift without notice.
